Advice from Karen
Our own Karen Brown is quoted in this very interesting article in Weddings in Houston. Making your out of town guests feel welcome is part of being a good host, check out what Karen has to say
Michelle & Rob
I had so much fun working with Michelle and Rob to plan this very special day for them and both of their families
The ceremony and reception were held at Sweetwater Country Club in Sugarland. Linens and florals by the amazing Darryl & Co. Our DJ was Jacob from L G Entertainers. The cakes were delicious creations from Edible Designs by Jessie and once again we weren’t disappointed. Christine Tremoulet gave us these beautiful sweet images.
Karen and I were discussing the other day what a For Your Memories couple “looks” like. In my mind Michelle & Rob were one of thoe couples. They LOVED their wedding. The ceremony, their families & friends were really important to them. They were appreciative and had so much fun at their wedding. What more can a planner ask?
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays !!
From all of us at For Your Memories we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!!
We feel very blessed by our families and friends and by this amazing industry we are in.
It’s that time again!!
Its that time again that we all start decorating our homes and offices for the holidays!! What fun!! But it is also that time for mid year college graduations. Our own Nicole will be receiving her Masters in a couple of weeks (Yeah Nicole!!) Graduation time means our mailboxes and those of many of our colleagues in the wedding industry will be brimming over with resumes and requests for employment.
Allow me, eager future wedding planners to offer a few words of advice and observation.
1. Please know the name of the company you are applying to and use
it in your letter.
2. At least make reference to the industry you wish to work in.
3. Please don’t use the website contact form to request employment.
I am sure that you will find our email address elsewhere on the site.
As much as I think we would all love to hire some energetic enthusiastic young planner to train, its just not always possible.
My best advice to you is to join ABC, NACE or ISES. Learn as much as you can and perhaps offer your services to assist at a wedding or two.
This is a great industry filled with wonderful, giving people, so good luck to you

Beautiful wedding at Hilton Post Oak
For Your Memories had a beautiful wedding this past weekend at the Hilton Post Oak. The happy couple is Himesh and Farrah Gandhi and we will have some beautiful pictures to show you as soon as possible.
We were able to snap a few pictures during the Baraat and wanted to share them with you
The baraat is a Hindu wedding tradition which involves the groom and his family and friends celebrating and arriving at the wedding venue traditionally with the groom on horseback.
Family and tradition was such an important part of this wedding and the baraat is just the beginning of a wonderful day and a beautiful wedding.
More pictures of this lovely wedding to follow soon. Stay tuned!!

Real Weddings
What a lovely wedding and beautiful couple. The wedding of Candace Lawton and Corey Scroggs held in April of 2009 is featured in the January 2010 “Weddings in Houston”. Karen planned and coordinated this wedding and we wanted to share some pictures here.
